The 96 roomed Shearwater Explorers Village is a superb 3 star Lodge situated only 400 m from the Victoria Falls. The property boasts 54 deluxe rooms, 42 standard rooms and also offers some serviced camping facilities. It is so close to the Falls that it occasionally receives an early morning shower from the Falls spray. The property overlooks virgin African bush and a waterhole frequently visited by elephant and buffalo and yet it is very near the craft markets and entertainment district. So location is certainly a primary benefit, along with amazing gardens supporting fantastic birdlife, great ambience & cuisine and true value for money.

SERVICED TENTS :
For those who love the unique thrill and pleasure of sleeping under canvass outdoors – but who do like a little luxury, our serviced dome tents are perfect. In each are 2 twin stretcher beds with mattresses and crisp clean linen and pillows. There is also a carpet runner underfoot to make it feel homely and a small bedside table with lamp and power socket. All the Dome tents are situated in our Acacia site. There are four covered, shaded slabs for campers to select their serviced Dome tent. The site also has its own kitchen area for cooking (there is a braai grill installed), counter areas for food prep and sinks for washing pots/pans and clothes. There are multiple sockets for charging any means of device. The site has a clothes drying rack (for anyone catching up with some laundry) , there is also an additional cold shower in each bay – particularly for those who want to cool off in the boiling hot summer weather. All campers on the site can access the communal ablutions (toilets and showers) – which are kept immaculate throughout the day and are very modern in design and finish – with hot water a plenty, mirrors galore and plenty of ‘grooming space.’
OWN CAMPING
Our campsite is essentially designed for overland touring companies but can accommodate those who are travelling with their own camping equipment. Trucks pull into specially designed bays, where they can access power for various needs. There are four shaded slabs set between lawns for campers to erect tents and a communal, covered – (handy in rainy season), dining area. Each bay also has its own kitchen area for cooking (there is a braai grill installed), counter tops for food prep and serving and sinks for washing pots/pans and clothes.
